Eyepieces: The self-print kit includes two eyepieces, currently the Svbony 23mm 62 degree aspheric eyepiece. This is a very basic starter eyepiece that provides 10x magnification at 5mm exit pupil. We recommend reviewing the “Eyepieces” lesson in the Gather section of the Magic course for a full discussion of eyepiece choices.
Optics: The optics kit provides f/4.5 (225mm focal length) objective lenses with pre-blackened edges and 50mm mirrors guaranteed 1/4 wave PV or better. This provides a maximum magnification of 75x using 3mm eyepieces.
Tripod: The full kit does not include a tripod. See the “Tripod” lesson in the Gather section of the Magic course.
Laser: We do not currently offer the optional laser module as part of the kit. If you’d like to build the laser, you will need:
